When John responds
John only acts on messages you intend to delegate. Here is what triggers a reply.
- DMs and group DMs: message John directly; he reads and replies in the conversation.
- Channels and private channels: @mention John in a message or thread to start.
- Active threads: teammates can keep replying in the same thread without re-mentioning John.
- John does not reply to channel messages without @John and without an active John thread.
- Slash commands:
/john helpand/john status. - Files and voice notes in supported conversations; App Home for connecting apps.
AI accuracy John uses AI to draft replies and summaries. Outputs can be wrong or incomplete. Review before you act on legal, financial, or customer-facing work.
